want you to take me away but bring me home before daylight

Lightning Round!

2 points for the name of the song
2 more points for the name of the musical

(other points awarded by whim, as always)

Jeff is going to take me away tomorrow evening (to see the King's Singers in Cedar) and then bring me home before daylight Wednesday because he has to teach three classes that morning.

OK I saw this in Vegas.

I had no idea is was about trains and all the actors were on roller skates. To that date it was the most expensive musical I had ever purchased to.

Another Andrew Lloyd Weber musical.

Wait, I was answering Melissa's comment and now it's gone. So it isn't Starlite Express from Starlite Express?

Robert said...

Didn't know this until Melissa posted the answer but as I mentioned in an earlier post. ShaLiece and I saw this together with Mom and Dad and probably several other members of the family in Las Vegas.

I also saw a couple numbers from this play in Saratov, Russia. The Young Ambassadors from BYU came and put on several productions throughout Russia.

Thanks for reminding me about the King Singer's tomorrow. I love hearing them. You are going to have a late night.
I get my nails done at Roland William's Second Glance. He is on the Music Arts Board and has a poster in his salon. He's good to remind me about CCMA and I'm going there tomorrow.

Daylight Savings starts Sunday. Bishop Whetman gave a long explanation about Spring forward, Fall back at the beginning of Sacrament meeting Sunday. To close he said, "just remember, Spring back and Fall forward" and sat down. After the song and prayer he tried to re explain.

1 point for being taken away and returned before midnight. (Does it seem as weird to you as it does to me that you are traveling from big Utah County to small Cedar City to get that kind of culture?)

1 point for me because I've seen the King's Singers too.

One point for seeing Starlite Express in Vegas.
1 point for composer
1 point for paying so much to see it. (or should I take points away for not finding a "deal". Never mind. The point stands.)
3 points

I suppose we need a little explanation. Melissa and I had a little off-blog conversation about this, and she has withdrawn her guess, based on the fact that she received a little shall we say outside help. I'm not that worried about it because this particular musical is so obscure that when I saw it on the blog I had to go back and check my "list of lightning round posts" to even remember which musical it came from.

HOWEVER, if any of you read it and knew what it was before you got to the comments, I'll give the first person to say so the 4 points.

1 point for having seen this musical
1 point for seeing a few number in RUSSIA!

I know this is going to be crushing to you, but you all might not hear from me in the comments for awhile now. We've got a big FHE planned, (you'll have to wait until the 7:00 post to learn what we're doing) and finding computer time might be tricky.

So, have fun, and I'll see you in a couple of hours!

From Melissa's own words:

"Now your really putting the pressure on. This is getting intense!"

"I started this years MMM thinking I will just have some fun"

"And then gosh, I got sucked in!! . . . I just can't help it"

So it's come to this - Musicgate!

I know, I am so, so, sorry. The pressure was to much and I cracked. And then I instantly felt guilty and tried to hide my shame. I promise not to do it again. It is all about having fun right :)

Besides, I don't know how much I can post now unless this Dr. Pepper I am currently chugging does the trick of getting rid of this massive migrane I just got. Probably my punishment :(

This whole thing makes me smile.

I hope your migraine gets better Melissa because I would hate to see Mom or someone else win simply because the defending champion went down with an injury.

Michael played one of his best games ever when he was sick with the flu. He was so sick that he almost had to be carried off the court. Surely you can muster up the strength for a couple more hours of musical madness!

You can do it! we're all rooting for you! . . . . . Well maybe not all but at least some of us are.

oh Robert, you are the greatest!! Thank you for making me smile :) Luckily the caffeine, and a blessing, seem to be doing the trick. All though it still isnt' helping me with the answer to the new post :)

Wow Melissa, I just gave a Primary lesson on Repentance. You whipped through all the steps lickety split! Seven year olds only have 4 steps.but wow! feel sorrow, ask for forgiveness, right the wrong and never do it again. Slam bam, done and done, in one post.
Hope all is well in South Bend.

Melissa @ Happy Quilting said...

I gave the exact same Primary Lesson to a 4 year old class. Me and Ricardo have a lot in common.
