Phil Collins sings it in the movie :)

Funny you do Tarzan, because earlier when I was writing about Jessi singing Defying Gravity and I said it makes me smile . . . It makes me smile because when she tries to sing the staccato part she sounds just like Tarzan, Jacob and I try not to laugh out loud because she gets embarrassed but it is so funny.

I remember watching a show on how they animated Tarzan. They used a skateboarder and copied his body movements for when Tarzan is sliding through the trees.
I used to watch Johnny Weismuller (?)Saturday mornings in the original series of Tarzan. I think I saw 3 Tarzans. They always rescued Jane. Others too but always Jane. Way before Disney.
Carol Burnett was famous for her imitation of Johnny's Tarzan yell. Johnny W.was a gold medal Olympic swimmer.
Is it me or do many of the Disney princes/heroes look ugly or just strange? My least favorite is the prince that the Beast in Beauty and the Beast turns into.
Rosie O'Donnell is an ape in the movie.

From book Tarzan and the Apes by Edgar Rice Burroughs. He also wrote science fiction. I think I remember some about Mars.

Minnie Driver does the part of Jane in the movie :)

Tuachan is one of the first off broadway theaters that Disney gave permission to perform. And I'm not really a person who cries much, but when Tarzan puts on real clothes and leaves his mom - I tear up every time. Confessions of such nature should be worth something and I'm trying really hard to pull ahead of Jake. Sure, it may not be fair because of work or whatever, but I'm competing here...

1 point for knowing that about Tuacahn
1 point for tearing up in this show
2 points for having the guts to admit it here for anyone to read.

total points:4

Speaking of Minnie Driver - She is also in another film that has a Broadway - The Phantom of the Opera - She play La Carlotta (Is that Charlotte in french?? :) although she can sing, they choose to have someone else sing the songs in the production. In her DVD interviews she didn't seem to happy about this. However, they did let her sing a new song at the end of the film called Learn to be Lonely that runs during the credits. I really like this new song, and like to think that they made it up just to appease her :)

And this is a stretch but hey, whim points are whim points. Just like Tarzan, I just put on some "real clothes" (meaning I got out of my pj's) including my shoes to get ready to pick up the kids from school. I wish however, that I could go barefoot like Tarzan since I broke off half of my toe nail on Saturday and shoes are really, really uncomfortable.

2 points for crazy good connecting the dots with Minnie Driver
1 point for a big whim stretch, my favorite kind.

Melissa, Out here, people wear flip flops even when there is 6 " of snow on the ground. Sorry about your toe.
Minnie Driver is also in "Return to Me". Which also has a gorilla who recognises her because she has the former caretaker's heart!
Speaking of singing your own songs, back to My Fair Lady. Rex Harrison couldn't sing! But he singsongs his songs so everyone else playing that part since has done the same. In the movie I couldn't see why the beautiful, young Audrey would fall in love with a man old enough to be her father!
